Scrub Island

The 230-acre private island on the East end of Tortola is home to the exclusive Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina. Naturally, being located in the sailing capital of the world means Scrub Island’s own marina is a jewel in the sparkling Caribbean Sea, illuminated by the sun, the moon and the stars above… and glittery lights below.

Scrub Island’s marina offers 55 deep-water slips for short- or long-term docking, including five specifically for larger mega-yachts up to 160 feet in length.

The marina is also the departure point for most of the water-oriented activities at Scrub Island. From here, guests can explore the breathtaking sea life surrounding the island through Dive BVI with daily group or private snorkel tours, dive trips, eco-explorer tours, and sightseeing charters offering the ultimate island hopping adventure.

Scrub Island Marina is the closest to the North Drop, the hot spot for world-record billfish. Book full- or half-day fishing excursions complete with boat, guide and equipment. For those who are seeking education, enrichment and teambuilding, Offshore Sailing School provides a robust list of offerings designed to improve the nautical skills of novice and expert sailors alike.

Centrally located at the heart of the resort, the Scrub Island Marina is in the midst of all the restaurants and shops in Marina Village—featuring Cardamom & Co, Donovan’s Reef, Antilia Boutique, the Fitness Center, Dive BVI, Offshore Sailing School, Gourmet Market & Café and Marina Showers—and provides a scenic vista from almost anywhere around the resort.

Scrub Island Resort is a boutique luxury hotel that opened in March 2010 and features 25 ocean view guest rooms; 25 ocean view one-bedroom suites; and two-, three- and four-bedroom villas.

Your stay can include: time at the award-winning Ixora Spa, hiking the secluded island, lounging by the pool, eating in their award winning restaurants or sipping a drink at a swim up bar.

Important pre-arrival notice regarding customs:

Marina guests from outside the BVI must clear customs at any of the BVI Ports in order to dock at Scrub Island. The owner or captain must provide proof of registration that displays the “BVI Her Majesty’s Customs” logo, vessel information and the port of entry.
