The Sailing Company, the parent of Cruising World and Sailing World amongst other publications, produces an excellent annual report on the State of the Sailing Industry and hosts a breakfast for its release at the Miami International Boat Show in February of each year. It is the one event attended by the Who’s Who in the sailing industry, probably because it is one of the very few events that actually produces concrete data and actionable information on the industry itself.
The report issued this year, mainly covering 2009, reflected yet another annual decline in the total number of sailboats . . .
