Bright colors with stilettos against clear blue skies with a Latin vibe permeated the Miami Boat Show. In complete contrast, the Southwest Texas International Boat Show (SWTIBS) brought in laid back southern belles and good ole boys with cowboy hats, bolo ties and, yes, boots! Who says all boat shows are the same? Nothing could be further from the truth than the two most recent shows I attended… these two shows could not be any more different!

From Miami to League City the show became drastically smaller in size, both square footage and boat representation. Whoever said “everything’s bigger in Texas” clearly was not talking about boat shows. That said, bigger isn’t always better. The SWTIBS provided a great opportunity to experience that true Texas hospitality, vendors and brokers alike were friendly, fun and festive.
