As the boat show season winds down and the winter months are quickly approaching, snowbirds head south and boaters set sail towards the islands. I have a special place in my soul for the Virgin Islands, but when the winter storms begin to hit the northeast, even a quick trip to Miami is welcomed wholeheartedly.

Though we keep hearing of shipyards and manufacturing plants either closing down or restructuring due to the crazy economy, many of the boat shows this year featured new multihull models like the Gemini Legacy 35, Maverick 400, Isara 50, Neel 45 and Motive 25R. It seems with each year that goes by, the boats become more and more impressive. From the clean lines of the Balance 421 to the open concept of the Sunreef 60 Power, they are true works of art.
