On July 5th, 570 boats participated in the 44th Kékszalag MVM Partner Grand Prix on the Lake Balaton in Hungary. Lake Balaton is the largest Middle European Lake with a surface of 6,400 square feet.

The Hungarian Kékszalag (Blue Ribbon) is the oldest European round the lake competition. It was founded in 1934 and sailed every second year until 2001, when it switched to yearly. Kékszalag has the longest course among the similar European races (Rund um, Bol d’Or, Centomiglia) with 155 km (83,7 nm).

This year the wind was very light for most of the race. The clear winner of the competition was a very special two masted 50-foot cat named Fifty-fifty designed and built by Pauger Carbon Composites and sailed by Marton Józsa and his team.
