Electric Marine Propulsion offers high-speed, low-carbon-footprint motor sailing… even from an iPhone

A ‘green,’ low-energy lifestyle once meant renouncing modern technology for a more primitive existence. That’s not Dave Tether’s way. The CEO of Electric Marine Propulsion prefers pushing the technological envelope to maximize creature comforts and help save the environment at the same time. Case in point: The latest launching equipped with his E Motion hybrid propulsion system – a new 60-foot catamaran from Tag Yachts of St. Francis Bay, South Africa. Designed by noted New Zealand naval architect Greg Young, the carbon-fiber speedster carries every electrical appliance imaginable, including a café-sized espresso machine.
